The first week for the European Division of Star Series Season IX is over, with 16 matches being held between the competitors. Natus Vincere, Alliance, Power Rangers and Empire are currently in top four.
It surely was a busy week for the European participants of Star Series Season IX. With 16 matches being played, many teams have managed to build a significant distance in front of their opponents in the battle for the top four slots that lead to the LAN playoffs.
Leading the race is the Ukrainian powerhouse Natus Vincere, that played five games this week. With victories against Relax, Virtus.Pro, Ahead and Fnatic and one loss against Team Empire, they have acquired 12 points in total. Behind Na'Vi, we have Alliance with two victories against Cleave and Insane, and Power Rangers with wins versus Relax and The Retry. The final four is completed by Empire, also with two victories against The Retry and Na'Vi. The games of Monday, March 3rd, are also included.
Worth mentioning is also that StarLadder so far have managed to double the prize pool since the announcement. This is of course possible due to the community funding where $2.5 from each ticket sold goes straight into the prize purse. The specific measure to involve the general Dota 2 audience in such a fashion is now common procedure, being the rule rather than the exception.
