The Summit America : EG, Liquid, NAR and SNA move to the playoffs

The round-robin stage of the American qualifiers of The Summit has just concluded, and four teams managed to gather the required points to advance to the qualifier playoffs. The winners of the Winners Bracket and Losers Bracket finals will be going to Los Angeles.
The upcoming tournament The Summit was announced back in March, and it is one of the several international competitions taking place in 2014. It features both an online and LAN phase, with the participants fighting over a $50,000 prize pool (with a crowd funding boost from the DotaTV ticket). The tournament includes three regional qualifiers for Europe, Asia and America, with the Asian and American qualifiers including two stages - the pre-qualifiers and the main qualifiers (for Europe it is just one stage).
With the ending of the European and Asian qualifiers fast approaching, it is time for the Americans to enter their regional playoffs. The round-robin phase is over, and four squads have qualified for the double-elimination bracket that leads to Los Angeles. With a flawless 7-0 record, EG finished first, followed by Liquid, Sneaky Nyx Assassins and North American Rejects, all of them ending the groupstage with a 4-3 gamescore. After CNB's defeats against eHug and NAR, the possibility of a four-way tie that includes the Brazilians was ultimately avoided.
The four teams will now give their most important battles of the tournament, as the two strongest teams of the double elimination bracket will receive a ticket to Los Angeles. The games are scheduled to take place today, May 8th, and tomorrow, May 9th, with EG facing Liquid at 23:00 CEST followed by the battle between SNA and NAR at 1:00 CEST. All the matches are best-of-three.
