An open Chinese tournament has been announced, with over $16,000~ in prize pool up for grabs. The top Chinese teams are invited into the tournament.

Contrary to the usual invite-only format of Chinese tournaments featuring their top-tier teams, a new tournament hosted by Chinese Dota Elite Community (CDEC) will be open to all teams. The competition, named CDEC New-Star, will be a multi-stage tournament with over $16,000~ (100,000 RMB) in prize pool.

It will start with an open tournament scheduled late May up to 2 June, on which the top four teams will advance into the next round. These top four teams will get a small incentive of 500 Yuan ($80~).

The next round is a week-long tournament on which the top four teams of the open tournament will join NewBee, HGT, DT and NE. The top four of this will advance into the final stage of the tournament, on which they will be joined by teams DK, iG, LGD and Vici Gaming.

The Champion will get $9,600 (60,000 RMB), while the runner-up and third-placer will get $4,800~ (30,000 RMB) and $1,600~(10,000 RMB) respecitively.
