The winner bracket finals between Zephyr and EoT.Hammer for the third and final installment of Nexon Sponsorship League is all set to begin on January 25, 2014. Team Zephyr, comprising of former FOu player, William 'BlitZ' Lee along with Kevin 'Purge' Godec and co. came under the spot-light after their surprising move to Korea for NSL Season 3.
Proving to be an apt decision, Zephyr has so far managed to outclass other teams in a seemingly convincing fashion that has taken them through into the Winner Bracket finals. They are set to face Team EoT.Hammer, who have managed to be a surprise element this season by sending 5inQ, the runners-up of last season, down to the lower bracket in an intensified best-of-five match-up.
Last season, 5inQ gave Jimmy 'DemoN' Ho's MVP.Phoenix a run for their money and also put an end to their undefeated streak, however, they faltered at the end. They came into season 3 as the tournament favourites but were outclassed by EoT.Hammer with a score of 2:3 after being up two games. Also worth mentioning is the fact that 8 out of 10 players on Zephyr and EoT are non-Koreans, trying to make a mark in the competitive circuit.
Lastly, the winning team between Zephyr and EoT will progress into the grand finals and are guranteed a second place finish (~$7,500) as compared to the top heavy prize money for the winner (~$56,500). In the meantime, you can place your bets here.
