The first cup of EMS One fall will begin today with 12 teams going head on to gain the first few points to qualify for the prestigious EMS One Autumn tournament.
A total of four cups will be run and the nine top teams - four winners of cups and five from points - will join Alliance and Mousesports, the invited teams, in the double elimination groupstage. From the groupstage, the top two finalists - WB winner and LB winner - will qualify for the offline playoffs.
Cup stage
1st: 100 points (+600$)
2nd: 75 points (+200$)
3-4th: 50 points (+100$)
5-8th: 25 points
9-16th: 10 points
At the end of the groupstage, six European teams and two teams from undisclosed region will be invited to participate in the tournament. Similar to the last season of EMS One, EMS willl probably hold a qualifier in North America and the only burning question is if they will host an Asian qualifier as well.
The cup stage will be played in single elimination best-of-one format up till the grand final which will be played in best-of-three.
For the first cup, Team Empire, Team Menace, Flipside Tactics and ONE (formerly known as Infernity Gaming) will receive a direct pass to the quarter-finals.
Round 1 will begin at 21:00 CEST.
