After a small actionless period following the end of The International, the Western DotA 2 competitive scene gets back on track, with EIZO Cup #7. The qualifiers take place from 17 to 18 of August, while the main event will span from 19 to 20. The teams will battle for a total prize pool of $1750.
The seventh version of EIZO Cup starts today, with over 500 registered teams battling for a total prize pool of $1750 and a chance to make a name for themselves in the competitive scene. The victor of the previous EIZO Cup was Kaipi, after a close 2-1 victory against ICCup. Kaipi will now attempt to defend their title after their two EIZO Cup gold medals, against some of the strongest teams in Europe.
EIZO Cup will kick-off with the first day of the qualifiers, that will last from 17 to 18 of August. The eight winners of the qualifiers will advance further, to face the eight teams that received a direct invitation to the main round. The main phase of the tournament will take place on 19 and 20 of August, with the Grand Final scheduled to take place at 21:00 CEST on Tuesday.
It should be noted that EIZO Cup emphasizes on Europe this month, with all the matches being played on Luxembourg servers. This may cause some delay issues for the teams that participate outside of Europe, although EIZO does not discourage the participation of such squads.
Live broadcasting of the matches will be provided by joinDotA Red, as well as various other channels.
