Team Liquid pulls ahead and finishes on top of reigning TI-champions Alliance after a power display earlier tonight. Both teams move on to the next stage whereas teams like Super Strong Dinosaurs and TheRetry do not.
It is the newly reformed Team Liquid who ends up in first position in group C of WePlay, winning all their matches flawlessly except the very last map where they lost to Alliance after beating the same in a very impressive display using Medusa. Alliance lost another map earlier tonight vs Peruvian squad For Sweet Revenge and will finish second. Both teams do qualify for the next stage whereas other teams of the group unfortunately are eliminated.
New supermix team with the less modest name Super Strong Dinosaurs have been playing well in various competitions since after their surfacing, however when going up against the renowed house hold teams such as Alliance and Liquid, they fell short thus ending their WePlay journey for now. The comeback of notorious captain PGG and his ever-so-changing TheRetry (now called TheReReReTry) failed to impress and the future will reveal if they will join other tournaments or not. For Sweet Revenge also struggled throughout the group, only finding themselves a comfort draw against reigning TI-champions Alliance.
The teams competing in the next stage are RattleSnake.int, Flip.Sid3.Quantic, Team Empire, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and Alliance.
Only group remaining of the first stage is Group D with teams like Natus Vincere and Fnatic. It starts on Wednesday and ends on Sunday.
