Over the past couple days Hazard LAN was held. Six teams attended but underdogs, Forget.DotA managed to come from behind and claim the prize.
Some of the better known teams that attended Hazard were OK, formerly known as TheShit!, DIPS and Druidz. Despite representing a new sponsor, OK gave a rather poor performance and failed to impress, losing to DIPS and Forget in the group stages.
Eventual winners, Forget, started off poorly, losing their first to matches to DIPS and Druidz respectively. They were however able to regroup and finish strongly. Up until the finals, DIPS were favoured to win as they were undefeated at the LAN. The final was comprised of a best of three format. In both games Forget were able to get their carries (Phantom Lancer in the first and Dragon Knight in the second) to farm up and eventually lead them to victory.
Forget player, Bonazaj, had a few words to say about the final:
-"In the first game we played a strat that we've played alot and we're used to, but we had planned to pick a DK instead of the PL, but we noticed that they had very little AOE and that opened a window for PL. Our Phantom lancer got freefarm and became very fat and we finished the game early.'
Game 2 was harder and both teams played quite passively and didnt wanna take many risks, which led to a less fun game. But we had some good fights and got good farm on our carries and at the end we came out victorious quite safely."
The participating teams were as follows:
Druidz
Dipsarna
OK-THESHIT!
Forget
QH++
NERDRAGE
With a title under their belt, Forget.DotA seems well on the road to becoming a top team in European DotA. Stay tuned to GosuGamers for coverage of their progress.
