Kuroky: "We don't play for nothing, our efforts should never be wasted."
Kuroky in DotA League Masters 2009
Gosugamers presents you a small synopsis of Kuroky's latest blog entry where he speaks out about the game against TheShit! and about his views about the newly formed DotA inhouse league DP.Asia. He justifies the strategy for playing Techies in the F4F game. We also hear his comments about the lag and other issues in the DP.Asia games.
Kuroky reveals that all the games that Blight.int play are played to the best of their capabilities, hence dismissing all rumors of them having taken it easy against the game against TheShit! in F4F.
He talks about the various strategies of playing Goblin Techies, a hero which many will admit has a huge untapped potential in the modern ganking style of DotA. The main strategy behind playing this hero is undoubtedly the roam-suicide strategy. But Kuroky claims to have practised a new strategy, which he calls the lane control-Techies strategy. The main aim of the player is to go solo and get to level 4-5 as soon as possible and then use the remote mines to farm a Force Staff and Euls Scepter.
Last hitting with techies is indeed difficult, given his overwhelmingly low dps, but the remote mines do make amends for him with a few well placed mines and statis traps getting him both hero and creep kills. An experienced techies player should have no problem to farm as the mines kill an entire wave in about three seconds. Kuroky admits that this was his main aim in the match, to get a solo farmed techies to wreak havoc in the opponents.
One thing that Kuroky forgot though was the effects of soloing against one of the greatest tankers in DotA would go according to his pre planned ideas. The mid solo Treant Protector ruined his game by tanking the mines by his Living Armour and also using it to save the towers, thus preventing some easy money for the cunning goblin. Eventually it was all over when Treant got a gem.
Kuroky expresses his determination to master that laning-techies style in an official game soon, so we can expect him to play his new style techies in one of the matches in the near future.
Talking about DP.Asia, he admits that the average level of gameplay is higher in the Asian version of the league. More than everything he accepts that it's fun playing in DP.Asia because of the sheer challenge and the nice behavior of the people there. The main concerns according to him are the host-bot issues. There is some delay and some players also spike/lag from time to time. But as was in his case, all it needs is some getting used to.
