The Asian DotA star reveals his views about various strategies, European playstyle and the upcoming SMM.

After starting his competitive DotA career with the team Nebula, Xiang 'longdd' Huang has moved a long way now after playing with the Asian powerhouse EHOME. At present he is playing for the team CityHunter and along with Burning, the previous Razer.cn member carried the team to the second spot in WCG China.

With the rapid approach of SMM there has been a phenomenal rise in interest in DotA in asia and in this aspect we come to this legendary player to have a peek into his views and opinions.

SMM will be the largest event as of yet with the best from both Europe and Asia. How will you prepare for this event?

- SMM is very important to me, this event will have the best teams gathered and it's the greatest thing a professional Chinese team can take part in. We are very busy making preparations and I hope we can perform well this time. Every player is looking forward to it. The only thing that we're worried about is the map version since we've been affected by this many times before. We can't really get used to it. We will decrease our training two days before the event so that our players can relax, and have an excellent state of mind. For now we will increase our training and prepare with and for the best teams around today.

Do you feel there's a difference between Asian and European DotA? If so, what's the biggest differences?

- The biggest difference is playing style. What kind of item-build for a certain hero, the positioning of a hero and also how you play it. Asia is also known to use heroes Europe does not.

The interview went on with longdd being asked about his special opponent oriented preparations and his strategies. longdd emphasized on the importance of watching replays to understand the opponent's playstyle and also gave us a hint of his team displaying some new and unique strategies in the tournament.

We wish the best of luck to longdd in all his future endeavours and wish him a wonderful SMM 09.
