SK-Gaming has announced that 2 players will be removed of the rosters. These 2 players are Gustav 'Renji' Bergström and Edvin 'KwoM' Börjesson. This puts the total now to 3 people who have left/been removed from the SK roster in some weeks.
Drayich decided a bit earlier to move to mousesports and now Renji and Kwom were dropped.
The official reason for Gustav 'Renji' Bergström's removal:
"Gustav has not been as active as he was needed to be in the past and thus he is not able to keep up with the teams schedule anymore. As many may have noticed he hadn't played any official matches for a while now. He of course is a friend of all the players and will stay as a inactive member of the team."
The official reason for Edvin 'KwoM' Börjesson's removal:
"He didn't put as much into the team as the rest of us.' He failed to obtain a visa in time despite the numerous reminders and made SK Gaming unable to attend ASUS Winter 2008, which was hindering the team."
- Jonathan "Loda" Berg
The remaining line-up:
Jonathan "Loda" Berg (Captain)
Joakim "Akke" Akterhall
Erik "Bogdan" Olsson
Tommy "toMpa" Andersson
GosuGamers met up with Erik "Bogdan" Olsson
We saw Kwom being removed. Was it just for the fact he didn't get a visa in time or were there more incidents?
Well, we wouldn't really have thought about kicking him if it weren't for the visa-incident. But he was playing a lot less than he used to as well. We were all really pissed at him, he deprived us of a great trip to Russia, and since we plan on going on alot more LAN events in the future, it's important you can trust every member to do what he's supposed to do.
We also saw Renji was removed, yet yesterday he played a match still in the CotA tournament. Can you explain why? Seeing this news was already released before?
Well Renji wasn't removed due to any bad feelings or anything, it was only because of inactivity. He's still a good friend to us IRL (Of Me, Loda and Akke at least). But he's simply not playing enough right now, it seems he lost interest in DotA.
But since he's our friend and all, he can still help us in easier games if we don't have enough people online.
SK's results has been going up and down a bit since the departure of Drayich. You think that woke you up which lead to these changes?
Well, we started off pretty strong by beating MYM etc. But after that the roster issues began. Kwom's internet started failing and we've had problems with having our 5 starters online at the same time for games. Often we've played with standins (mainly snow- and Tapper). Basically we haven't really been able to get the stability we need, with at least 6 active players that are online much enough that we can scrim a bit and play our games without having to use standins. We've realised for quite a while that we need to have at least one more stable player, and after the kick of Kwom, which came rather sudden for us as well, we are in even more dire need of more players.
People are ofcourse speculating about who will replace these 3 open spots now. A lot of people think snow- will become a full time member. Any information you can give us already?
At this point it isn't decided who will become stable members, however, I can say that snow- will not.
Any last comments or shout-outs?
Despite everything, I'd like to wish Kwom good luck, if he continues to play DotA. Even though I got pretty mad at the visa-thing, he's still a good guy and we've played together for a long time. I think we had a pretty good run together (Kwom and SK), and I wish him all the best in the future
and with Tommy "toMpa" Andersson
We saw Renji and Kwom being removed from the roster. Any personal thoughts about that move?
Renji has not really been part of the rooster for some time and we see him more as a friend. About Kwom, I like his personality alot but lately his performance wasn't exactly brilliant and he didn't play that much either. When he failed with the visa we felt that something was needed to be done. It was all "for the greater good"
New people will join SK to fill up the roster. If it was entirely up to you and you could pick any player in the DotA scene. Which 3 would you take and why?
3? That's alot ^^. At the moment we're trying out 2 people which I think got some strong possibility to be SK but I guess you will find out in the next 1-2 weeks =).
Are the both swedish, aka will we still see a full swedish line-up?
Yes you will probably see a full swedish line-up from SK. But you never know.
Any last comments?
No hard feelings towards kwom we just felt something needed to be done and I hope he will continue dota in any other way because he's a nice guy.
