TeG.Razer vs WolkeR-Gaming

TeG bans were easy to read - they wanted some calm mid game, hence they took out powerhouse ganking and the hardest of all pushers. Proceed to draft three middle-late game heroes and Pugna to defend against pushing, they did not draft the Priest. Ukrainians responded with strong lanes and pushing orientated lineup. When it came to game, they left no room for mistakes. Dendi with DkPhobos warded the best starting camp in sentinel forest and the rune spot ensuring early gank prevention, rune control and of course a rougher start for Bird. Travka scored first blood at level one, shortly after Priestess and Shadow Fiend have fallen, latter of the two not the last time. Goblak played a flawless Leshrac middle, killing FDX six time without response, and build up Scepter under 24th minute mark, rather than usual Dagger, which happened to be a perfect push addition. Shallow Graved Dendi was roaming the map, leaving Lina for fast leveling, and DkPhobos managed to even kill Freezer few times. Remedy for Birds tanking was a fast Scepter on Slayer, followed by the usual Dagger. Travka meanwhile after a fast Midas, that summs up his early game well, grabbed a Radiance with Priests help. Shallow Grave enabled WolkeR to hold TeG while Travka was rice farming, and push with the power of Diabolic Edict. The Anti push of TeG was quite fragile, hence when Ukrainians caught Elite off guard they cleared second middle Tower and rounded the base one to half of its hit points. Farming up for 10 minutes afterwards, claering remaining level two towers, finishing a BKB on Tormented Soul and getting Heart recipients on Leoric, WolkeR finished the game in 40 minutes. TeG did not lack skill, this should be marked - Freezer did not get stunned once during the game when he had Leap online, FDX was not taken out of the game coming back well and Bird was playing on his normal high level - what did not work, was the picks, that turned out to be ingeniously countered by Ukrainians. Everything but an even game, yet a must see for all those who want to see DotA at it's finest. Best of luck to The elder Gods, and congratulations on achieving fourth place in the ninth edition of PriDe!

First Game

Both sides banned what there opponent is proficient with, and when it came to picks Makers had the upper hand. Not only did they get their favorite Queen, but forced Virtus into picking a Silencer, thus putting into a defensive stance, something Russians do not like nor play well. H4nn1 as the most fragile on the map was an easy prey for ARS-ART, and while the Russians had the upper hand top, bottom lane was ruled by MYM proving that not only Butcher and Omniknight can successfully put out a powerful double lane. Sand King and Leshrac lane relies part of it's power in dominating their opponents. When turned around happens to be a disaster. 5-0 for MYM bottom made the book on Rexxar even faster. In the middle Maelk was playing some of best Queen games ever, out lasthitting Jolies' Silencer drastically. MapHawk ganking, sometimes even solo, their famous 'ezy treatment' on Jolie, Boots of Travel on most of Makers, two Books, Eul's and Mek, pushing from every direction - all this lead to a 33 minute win. Virtus had no chance to prevail, as MaNia- was near his Radiance, and MYM pretty much outfarmed every single one of their opponents.

Second Game

Makers in th second game did the complete opposite of what MaNia- said in a short interview we had with him recently - they had clever new lanes, risked a lot in a push strategy after their first game, yet they could afford it - they were ahead. The only ban that changed was Queen in place of Warchief, hence Centaur this time appeared in picks. Moreover, after failure in game one, Virtus did not try to pick defensive stance, yet Makers soothed the offensive lanes Russians picked. Middle Maelk pushed with Necrolyte against Razor, but the bomb was elsewhere. Sandy and Twin Head lane was completely shut down by Priest and Centaur - a stun in was under immense danger of Weave + Stomp + Weave + Poison touch combo, and that gave Makers the control over the lane, as the combo was also killing offensive wise. Virtus well known Shaker and PotM lane works quite simply - Priestess goes to lane with a bunch of tangoes and branches or slippers and harass like there is no tomorrow. Successful stun from Shaker is almost a sure death. Hawk is not only the free rune control - also a great precaution from Fissure traps. In spite of a Fissure takings place, Split Earth and Axes provide an escape route through chopped lumber, as top lane has no terrain to set a trap upon. Makers enabled H4nn1 to lasthit most of the kills boosting his bulkiness with experience, gold and of course Shallow Grave. Maelk, with H4nn1s help, scored a kill and took tower down around 11th minute, which sped up his farm. Although playing very carefully and ganking wisely early, they could not stop the offensive potential of Virtus. Four man push middle brought not only three kills, but also the middle tower, unfortunately for Russians LevenT and slahser used that time to clear top lane tower. Jolie being bit behind after laning was unleashing Razors farming potential, but his BoT and Radiance did not exceed in time H4nn1s, who also had a Dagger in his arsenal. Chen replaced by Necrolyte, pushing at it's best. Double heal, Mek and Headress meant insane healing along with some nice AoE damage, which lead Makers to a second win.

Ending notes

Virtus played there casual game, just like TeG, but it was MYM and WG who showed bright and clever picks, which lead them to victories. Better today, but the tournament is not yet over, except for TeG. MYM was better last time in the winner brackets finals, but it was Virtus that succeeded. Will Makers take the throphy this time? Will WolkeR surprise yet again? Is Virtus going to win their fourth trophy in a row? Time will tell, only couple days more.
