The new league WCL DotA will be using XL mode instead of the usual ap draft.

The WCL DotA Leauge, » which we reported on yesterday, is innovative compared to the other leagues out there. They just announced they will be using XL mode, instead of the regular ap draft. XL mode means that the team captain of each team removes three heroes that will be forbidden to use in the game. With this we will see new combinations, tactics and an overall variety of the game.
- It brings more variety to the game, removing those so used heroes such as Sand King, Queen of Pain and Warlock, says Metro, DotA connoisseur.
They are also having item restrictions, which means only one Arcane, one Book, two Eul/Guinsoo (one Eul and one Guinsoo, or two of each).
We talked with several top players in the scene and they all agree that this was a positive move by WCL DotA League. Hopefully this will be as successful as people predict, and we will follow the WCL DotA League with interest.
