For almost two years now, GosuGamers have had many successful seasons in GosuBet in StarCraft and WarCraft 3. With launching the new DotA section we will of course have the same features here as well.
The GosuBet is a non-money betting system. Everyone starts with 50 tangos and are able to place them into many different bets, with odds for each player.
Depending on the odds, members may win different amounts of minerals. Each season has either a time limit or a mineral goal, and once the season is over, the winner is announced, and sometimes awarded a prize. You must have membership on the site to be given 50 tangos. Just click on a bet, select how much you'd like to bet, and on whom.
Since the tangos you receive from a bet is based on the odds, it is pointless betting 50 tangos on a player in a match where that player already has 100%. The lower the odds, the higher your chances to win a great amount of tangos. Each member of the community starts with 50 tangos and can anytime reset back to 50 tangos if he or she has gone lower than this amount. This means that the tangos in motion will increase rapidly and some users will have a lot of tangos after the first rounds.
Matches from the best leagues in the DotA community will be open for betting, along with special showmatches and other events put together by GosuGamers or any other large DotA community.
You are free to bet on a match until the very start of it. Results are handled by the GosuGamers Crew and the tangos are given out as soon as the result is added by a Crew member.
The first bet of the DotA history stands between Die Pornorallen and Rising Stars. The match is played in the WC3 DOTA Cup Spring 2007.
First of all you get basic information about the two teams. The percentage are based on how many tangos have been placed on each team. At the moment dP have the most tangos placed, but as the match starts at 22:00, the percentage odds will surely switch.
You can see previous encounters between the teams, but as this is the first bet added there is no one.
When placing your bet, you can either choose to go all-in, then the system automatically places all your tangos on the team of your choice. You can also place your preferred amount of tangos by entering it in the box. When you are done, press Save my bet.
After the match is finished and a result has been set, you will see in your GosuBet section the amount of tangos you have received. When the bet is over, you are free to place your tangos on another upcoming bet.
