The North American qualifiers have reached the closed stage with brackets for the 16 teams released.
128 teams from the open qualifiers for the Minor tournament have boiled down to a mere 16, going into the closed qualifiers. There are a few familiar names, such as Winterfox, Denial, Dogmen and Enemy, however the rest are fresh blood and it is beyond intriguing to see how the closed qualifier pans out for the teams.
Following is the bracket for the North American Minor tournament closed qualifiers:
The top 8 teams from the list will proceed to a closed double-elimination tournament, where they will face eight other seeded teams. After the four best teams emerge, they will then go on to face the two best South American contenders and two invited teams in a bid to secure the lion’s share of $50,000, as well as a spot at the qualifiers for the next major.
As a reminder the Minor tournament will take place on January 15th-17th at the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
