Valve has announced that they will be introducing official minor tournaments in addition to the pre-existing majors system.

In the past, Valve has only put their official support behind CS:GO Majors, which have traditionally been the largest events of the year. Now the Washington-based company has announced they will be be introducing a new catagory of official tournaments: minors.

These smaller, regional events will serve as qualifiers for the majors, but will bring the high quality production that we've come to expect from events like Cologne and Katowice. Four $50,000 minors have already been slated for January in preparation for MLG Columbus 2016: one for the CIS region, hosted by StarLadder, Europe, hosted by PGL, Asia, hosted by ESL and Americas, hosted by MLG. Only teams that have a majority roster in the region can participate.

More information on these events will be coming soon, so stay tuned to GosuGamers for the latest information as it becomes available.
