Team Liquid have defeated the Australian representation, Legacy eSports, in a convincing 2-0 BO3 in Group A.

Team Liquid game out firing on all cylinders on the first map, de_cobble, where they gave their friends down under a thrashing on the T side, taking the pistol and the next four rounds. Legacy managed to score a round of their own, but the North Americans promtly shut them down again, breaking Legacy's economy and allowing Liquid to easily climb to 7:1. The rest of the half was a stomp as well, ending with a 12:3 scoreline. Legacy weren't done yet however, coming back with their own T side pistol, which netted them a total of three rounds. The Australians continued to build up rounds, but the occasional round taken by Liquid proved to be just enough to close out the map with a comfortable 16:8 win.
Liquid seemed poised to continue their momentum into the second map, de_cache, where once again the North Americans showed their T side prowess, once again getting the head start on the T side with pistol round. This around though, Legacy quickly responded once they got the rifles in their hands, tieing up the score at 3:3. The half went back and forth, with Liquid narrowly coming out on top 8:7. Legacy managed to pick up the T side pistol, but a force buy from Team Liquid took the next round rigght out from under their feet, which let them bring the score up to 8:11. The Australians tried their best to stay in the match from there, but only managed to get three more rounds before Liquid closed out 16:11.
