In a match that featured round swapping on both sides, NiP battled past Team Liquid to secure its spot in the deciding best of three match in Group C.

Ninjas in Pyjamas overcame a strong terrorist half from Team Liquid to win their best of one match and advance to the deciding best of three match in Group C. Team Liquid picked up the opening pistol and made quick work of the following two rounds. Ninjas in Pyjamas would strike back in the first gun round and not look back after that, taking the next six rounds of the match before Liquid — with a great Eric “adren” Hoag AWP 4K — could mount a solid CT defense. Again, NiP would force the issue with a nice push into the A site, resetting Liquid’s economy and securing the 12th and 13th rounds of the half. Liquid would split the last two rounds with NiP, ending the half in the Swedish side’s favor 10-5. Patrick “f0rest” Lindberg led the way in the half with 19 kills for NiP, while “adren” had 11 for the North American side.

Liquid would take the second-half pistol, after brining the round to a 2 v 2 on the B bombsite before shifting to the A site and planting. Nick “nitr0” Cannella was able to clutch the round with a last-second headshot on Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund. Unlike the first half, Liquid was able to capitalize on a first gun round win and secured both the 19th and 20th rounds to pull the score to an even tie 10-10. After trading rounds, NiP put the hammer down and secured four rounds in a row to bring the score to match point. NiP cleaned up the last round and Team Liquid are out of Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca 16-10.
