The second day of Gfinity Summer Masters I is live and the second round of group B was played.
First on the stage was Virtus.pro and Cloud9 in the elimination match of this group. Although, Cloud9 started0 well yesterday against nV they still managed to lose that match 2-1 which knocked them down to the elimination match. On the other hand, Virtus.pro suffered a shocking 2-0 loss against Mousesports.
Cloud9 opened this match very shaky, considering that they started on the CT side of de_overpass. Virtus.pro managed to claim a few rounds at the start of map which eventually turned out to be enough to walk away with it. Cloud9 still made a comeback for 9-6 at the end of the first half, but with the better defense the Polish team took the map with a 16-13 win. The next map was de_dust2, the map which proved to be one of the most shaky ones in the past for the European teams whenever they played against the North American opponents. Howerver, VP started pretty strong, allowing Cloud9 to take only four rounds at the CT side. On the top of this, the Polish team won the second pistol round and it was already clear that Cloud9 will be unable to make anything major here. The map was closed with 16-5 scoreline and Cloud9 are now eliminated from the tournament. VP will now move on to the deciding match where they will face the loser of nV/Mousesports match for the second seed of the group B.
The winners match brought us a match between EnVyUs and Mousesports. The German team were flawless during the first day as they took VP down 2-0, while nV struggled a bit against Cloud9 in ther 2-1 victory. However, the French team had a good opening today as they just demolished Mousesports at de_dust2 16-6. The French T side was the crucial here, as they didn't drop a single round during their T side in the second half. The second map was more closer, but again nV showed a strong T side. The first half was won by the French team 9-6 and it was looking like they going to walk away with yet another easy win here. But, Mousesports stood up and fought to keep themselves longer in this match. Eventually, they had even a better T side finishing this map with 16-12 win. The final and deciding map was de_cobblestone, where nV started on the CT side taking an early 11-4 lead. Mousesports managed to lower deficit to only four rounds but that was all they could do here as nV closed this map with 16-9. Mousesports will now play against VP in the deciding match of this group, while nV is moving on to the playoffs.
The deciding match is scheduled to start at 19.00 CEST and it will be played at the same time as the deciding match of the group A.
