The first day of Gfinity Summer Masters I is live and the opening matches of group A have been played.
The first edition of Gfinity Summer Masters has kicked off and the opening matches of group A have been played. In the first one we saw Titan taking on Team Dignitas in a very interesting best-of-three series. The Danes proved that they have increased their performance and that their online results aren't short-living. Titan got knocked down in a 2-0 defeat, losing both maps very convincingly, 16-10 and 16-7. To make it even harder for the French team, they lost on de_mirage and de_overpass, where both maps are considered as one of the better ones for them.
On the other hand, Ninjas in Pyjamas and SK Gaming was the second match-up of this group. The Swedes are currently in a slump, since they are unable to perform on an avid level when it comes to the offline events. While, SK Gaming is having their debut in the LAN events, where on the top of that they swaped HUNDED with BERRY only a three days ago. To make it even more interesting, SK Gaming stood up and did indeed put up a very good fight against NiP on the first map of this match. The Danish team almost won de_cobblestone as they had 15-14 scoreline, however NiP managed to make it to overtime where they eventually came out victorious. The second map also started in a good way for SK Gaming as they finished the first half with 9-6 lead, but NiP managed to make a comeback for 16-12 and a 2-0 victory.
The group will resume tomorrow with the next matches where we will be able to see Dignitas against NiP in the winners match, while Titan and SK Gaming will be battling it out in the elimination match of the group. Later on, loser of the winners match and the winner of the elimination will meet up to fight for the second seed and a spot in the playoffs.
