Group A of Dreamhack Summer 2015 finished up today with Fnatic reigning on top undefeated in their two matches.
The much anticipated Dreamhack Summer 2015 kicked off today in Jönköping, Sweden with the first group of the tournament. The first match of the day was a close duel between Fnatic and LGB eSports. Fnatic had a strong first half on their T side on de_cache, and while LGB managed to pull a strong T half of their own, Fnatic's round advantage proved to be too much for the Norwegian team, with a final score of 16:13.
Titan and FlipSid3 Tactics faced off next with yet another closely contested map, de_cobblestone. Titan struggled early on in the match to hold off against their Ukrainian opponents, whose unorthodox aggression netted them easy entrance to the bombsites, especially with the help of s1mple, who ended the match with 40 kills. However, their early success turned to frustration as Titan managed to bring it back and take the map to over time, where they won four of the five rounds, giving them the map 19:16.
The lower bracket saw FlipSid3 take on LGB in the third match of the group. FlipSid3 showed their prowess once ogain on the terrorist side, this time with a spectacular performance from bondik. The first half ended 10:5, but FlipSid3 showed no mercy in the second half, clsoing out the map 16:5.
However, LGB's crushing defeat didn't compare to the upper bracket match, which saw Fnatic take on Titan on one of their staple maps, de_mirage. The Swedish side proved their profficiency on the map, allowing Titan only two rounds on their T side, and not giving them a single more, ending the match 16:2, the most one-sided scoreline of the group.
Titan bounced backed in the final map of the day against FlipSid3, played out on de_cache. FlipSid3 struggled early on in the match, allowing Titan to take five rounds uncontested on their CT side. Although they managed to pull back together and end the half 7:8, Titan showed they had done their homework on FlipSid3's T strategy, effectivly shutting them down for a comfortable victory with a scoreline of 16:11.
