North American CS:GO player Peter "ptr" Gurney has announced that he has been released from the roster of Counter Logic Gaming.
The 24 year old in-game leader had been on the active roster for nearly half a year now, playing with the team ever since they were still under the mouseSpaz organization in December of last year.
However, it now appears that recent rumours regarding his departure from the CLG organization have been confirmed, as ptr himself Tweeted the following to end all speculation:
Clg has released me. I wish them nothing but the best in the future and thank them for the time they gave me. I have something in the works
— Peter Gurney (@Ptr_tv) April 29, 2015In addition, CLG team manager Jeff Fonseca added the following:
“I know I speak for everyone on the team when I say it’s with a heavy heart that we are releasing our friend Peter “Ptr” Gurney from our roster. Peter has played an intricate roll for us since we signed with CLG in January of this year. He has been our designated AWPer and teammate since we began playing with him last year. Peter has had some amazing performances and has fought alongside us to achieve many hard-fought victories. We wish him the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing him in upcoming tournaments.”CLG also states that the team is "actively seeking new candidates to complete its roster", meaning that a new replacement has not been found as of yet.
Counter Logic Gaming are now left with the following incomplete roster:
Pujan "FNS" Mehta
Steve "Cutler" Cutler
James "Hazed" Cobb
Tarik "tarik" Celik
