The day 2 of ESL One Katowice is upon us and only the eight teams are still in the tournament fighting for the title of the first major in 2015. First to get on the stage are the DreamHack Winter winners, Team EnVyUs, and one of the strongest LAN teams, Natus Vincere. After the map pick teams decided to play on de_cache, de_dust2 and the random pick was de_cobblestone which will be played as a third map if it's needed.
The initial map, de_cache, was opened by Edward who made a four phenomenal kills in the pistol round. EnVyUs was really struggling to get on board as they couldn't score the round although they did manage to put down the bomb almost every round. Na'Vi picked on an early lead of 6-0 when the French team finally got their first round in this match. Slowly, Na'Vi started losing the pace which they had and nV was back into this match. The first half went into Na'Vi's favor with 10-5. The second pistol round was once again opened by Edward who made a few quick kills but he was shut down by his own team mate seized which turned out to be a big issue for them as Na'Vi once again managed to gamble 1v4 situation like they did against Fnatic yesterday. This time shox made it out of 1v4 but he didnt had enough time to defuse the bomb so the Ukranian team scored another round. If the pistol round could be called a bit unlucky for the French team, they were certainly happy after the next one where they won against a full buy and to start making a comeback. Na'Vi was struggling to get into the sites, they were mostly rely on on the solo skills of their players but a few times the time beat them. In the end, nV closed this match with 16-12 and it's was time to move on to the second map which was the Na'Vi's pick.
In this second map we could a reversed scenario where nV took an early lead and slowly maintained to the half time. The French team was on CT side and after winning the pistol round and a few more rounds which followed it was hard for NaVi to find any space to work with as their economy was also crashed. However, the Ukranian team had some tricks they were yet to pull off. They managed to get back on track and to win a few rounds which helped them to get back confidently. The half time score was 8-7. The second half brought us a whole different Na'Vi, where we could see GuardiaN in a tottally insane mode, where he was hitting all the shots with scout, famas, AWP, deagle, basicly any gun. However, nV wasn't giving up and they were stricking back with the tec9's mostly and the match was down to the 30th round at the score 15-14 for Na'Vi. Na'Vi had only 1 famas and 4 pistols to work with and within only 10 secs into the round nV had already 5v3, but GuardiaN once again saved his team and stopped the B push for 16-14 and 1-1 in this Bo3 series. The key player besides GuardiaN in this map would probably be Edward who clutched some very important rounds and hit some crazy headshots through the smoke.
The deciding game was played on none other than de_cobblestone. Cobblestone is the most disputed map in the community. We could see a lot of threads and discussions about this map after which Valve decided to patch and change. nV got a slight advantage starting over at CT side of this map, but Na'Vi showed once again a vast talent with the pistols as they took the pistol round under their wings. However, the masters of eco rounds, nV, quickly returned by winning the following round with just pistols and from that point on the game was just rolling on for the French team who easily got up to 13-2 at the end of the first half. The second half was just routinely closed by the DH Winter winners who are now through as they will wait for their either TSM or NIP in the semi finals.
