ESL One Katowice: VP and C9 are victorious in first round of Group D

VP started off with dominant 12-3 half against 3DMAX as CT on overpass. 3Dmax managed to win the next pistol but VP took the next eco. 3DMAX had to force buy famases and very limited amount of grenades which was enough to survive in the game for couple more rounds. The Polish team secured 15th round in an intense shootout on A plant with one-for-one trades and failed smoke defuse. Next round the Finnish players could not afford rifles and pistols+armor was not enough to prevent Virtus.pro from claiming victory.
TSM had also a very promising start with 13-2 score against C9 as CT on de_nuke, showing a very strong defense. C9 managed to take pistol round and started to mount their comeback. Unlike their Finnish colleagues who did not perform well on the T side as well, the North Americans were able to build up strong defense to even up the score to 13-13. Although, TSM finally took their first T-side round, C9 instantly responded with 14-14 with 15th round victory follow-up. In the last round, TSM had to rely on Tec9 ramp rush but were denied and Americans took the 16-14 victory.
