The first matches at ESL One Katowice saw teams from group B playing on the main stage, where EnVyUs took on Titan and LGB met with Penta.

The main match of the first round in group B was between a two French teams EnVyUs and Titan who have built their rivalry for a long time now. Both teams were saying this match is 50-50 and there shouldnt be a clear favorite of winning it. To add even more hype to all of this the map which was chosen to be played on was none other than de_cobblestone. EnVyUs started by taking a pistol round at CT side, however Titan stricked back by winning the next round for 1-1. The both teams were going back and fourth, but nV had the lead at the end fo the first half of 9-6. The second half brought us the same level of entertainment as we could see kioShima clutching a 1v2 situation in the pistol round and securing a safe start of the second half for his team. nV was maintainting their lead throughout the most part of this match. But, Titan led by always great kennyS and Maniac who was outperforming in this match quickly got to 14-12 in their favor and it was looking like the match is going to flip into their hands. But, the DreamHack Winter champions proved that they are capable of playing under the pressure as they won the next four rounds to make it 14-16 for them and to beat their rivals.

The second match of round 1 in group B saw a two underdog teams Penta Sports and LGB eSports. Although Penta was a top eight finisher at the last major, both teams didnt receive any big odds against the French teams in this group. The match was played at de_dust2 where LGB opened it with quick 3-0 on CT side. Penta managed to score their first round for 3-1 but they were looking really out of shape as LGB quickly climbed up to 13-2 and they already a control of this match under their hands. The final score was 16-3 and LGB will move on to the winners match against EnVyUs, while Penta will play in the losers against Titan.
