The organisers for the i54 qualifiers have announced a change of plans, opting to expand the remaining online qualifier for the G2A.com Counter-Strike Challenge.

The online qualifiers for the main CS:GO event of the Insomnia Gaming Festival began on February 18th, with the start of Group A, which came to a close on Wednesday with both x6tence and Publiclir.se progressing to the semi-finals.

The organisers of i54 have now changed the format of the Group B qualifier, doubling the number of allowed participants from four teams to eight. This change comes as more European teams are showing interest in the competition.

The groups were initially planned to be played in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing. However, the plan for Group B has been changed to a double-elimination, best-of-one system. Group B will now have two brackets, an Upper and Lower, with the top team of each bracket moving onto the next stage of the tournament.

Below you can see a representation of Group A, which has already been played.

Group B will commence on February 25th.
