Team LDLC hold on to their frontrunner position, claiming their first title in the 2015.
The European G2A Cup, hosted by FACEIT has concluded after a whole month of play. During this period we saw a total of eight teams fighting for a cut of the $10,000 prize pool. This tournament was full of some upsets and a pleasant surprises, but in the end, the favored team still won.
The final match was played between Team LDLC and HellRaisers. Team LDLC went into this tournament with momentum after winning their first major at DreamHack Winter. They continued their dominance, sweeping the competition without dropping a single map. Conversely, HellRaiers were struggling throughout the tournament, with every match being fairly close.
The opening map of the grand final was de_nuke. Statisticly not a very strong map for Team LDLC, which we could see straight after the first half which ended 8-7 for their CT side. However, the Ukrainians didn't excel at the CT side either, so the final score was 16-10 for the French team. The next map, de_dust2, was totally in LDLC's favor. They made a huge lead at half time, 14-1, and just capitalized with their lead in the second half, winning 16-7. HellRaisers looked out of place tonight, losing on de_cache at CT side 4-11, but they put up a bit of a fight and showed at least some action at T side to make it 12-16 in the end for LDLC.
