Astralis join the list of invitees for Intel Extreme Masters: Sydney 2017.

Following the recent announcement of Intel Extreme Masters: Sydney 2017, ESL have begun to reveal the teams that are directly invited to the tournament. So far only Renegades and SK Gaming are confirmed to participate, with Astralis joining the list according to an announcement from ESL. IEM Sydney is a $260,000 AUD (~$200,000) prize pool tournament, to be held this May 6th-7th. A total of eight slots are available for the event, six of which are direct invites and two are reserved for the Chinese and Oceanic qualifiers.

Astralis will be joining the tournament after a spectacular run of events. Not only were they victors of the first major tournament of the year, the ELEAGUE Major, they also recently took first place at Intel Extreme Masters XI: Katowice 2017. Whilst performance-wise the Danes are in tip-top shape, recent news of Nicolai "device" Reedtz's health issues could potentially affect future tournament placements, as substituting for him will be professional Counter-Strike 1.6 player and Astralis' current coach, Danny "zonic" Sørensen.

With Astralis joining the list of participants, this is what the current team line-up looks like:
