Astralis lifts the trophy at Katowice

The Danes have secured yet another key title just months into the new year with their win over FaZe Clan at Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2017. Astralis went down a single map at the beginning of the series, but proceed to retaliate with three of their own to clinch themselves the match. Secret wins Intel Challenge Katowice

Parallel to main Katowice tournament this week was Intel's female-only event, where once again perennial favorites Team Secret proved themselves to be one of the best in the world by defeating Team Dignitas Female in order to secure the title. Team Dignitas sign female CS:GO roster

In other female CS:GO news, Team Dignitas secured themselves a second roster this week with their announcement that they have decided to acquire Team Karma, the North American lineup that features former CLG Red player Catherine "CAth" Leroux Team leader Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido said the following about the change:

”What excites me the most about joining the Team Dignitas family is the amount of support and respect they have from the eSports community. It is a dream come true to play for Team Dignitas and within the Philadelphia 76ers family; and we do consider our team a true family.

TuGuX joins new team

The German/Turkish pro has been without an organization since the tail end of last year, when he announced that he had decided to take a extended hiatus from the professional circuit and abandoning his in-game leader position with Space Soldiers. Now almost four months later TuGuX has decided to return, joining up with the remenants of the former Turkish roster of DarkPassage. Although the team currently doesn't have sponsership, they are actively seeking a new name to represent them as they continue to compete in a number of smaller domestic leagues.

Gambit recieves cs_summit invite

Beyond The Summit have announced the fifth invitee to their cs_summit event this week, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles this April. So far four invitees have been announced in the shape of SK Gaming, Cloud9, OpTic Gaming and Team EnvYus. Joining the list are Gambit Gaming, a CIS mix with a Kazakhstani majority. The team has been competing for a while now, taking their performance to the next level after the addition of their in-game leader, Daniil "Zeus" Teslenko.
