According to a statement from the official WESG website, the well-known Swedish CS:GO team GODSENT will reportedly miss the Grand Final of WESG, which will take place in Changzhou, China, from January 12th - 15th.

The reasoning behind the team’s decision to not attend the event is unknown; WESG indicated that they were unable to get an official statement from the organization, or a comment from any of its players. GODSENT were set to compete in Group C against the likes of teams such as Signature, Team Kinguin, Space Soldiers, Bravado Gaming, and FIVE eSports Club, before bowing out of the event. The team will leave behind the opportunity to compete for the $1,500,000 CS:GO prize purse.

GODSENT’s current roster:

Jesper “JW” Wecksell
Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
Markus “pronax” Wallsten
Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson
Andreas “znajder.” Lindberg

Given that GODSENT elected not to attend the event such a short time before it began, it is uncertain whether there will be a replacement team in their absence, or if the tournament will move forward missing one team.

The WESG Grand Final will take place over the course of four days, and feature four different eSports; CS:GO, Dota 2, Starcraft II, and Hearthstone; with several teams competing in their respective games, over an overall event prize pool of $3,700,000.
