48 teams will compete from August 4th to early September for three spots at the $100,000 World Championships.
?The month-long qualifier will begin with the first Qualifying Round where sixteen seeded teams will meet with 16 non-seeded teams in a BO3, two-round bracket. The match draws will take place on August 4th.
Seeded Teams:
Turkey Belarus Bosnia and Herzegovina Latvia Ukraine Serbia United Kingdom Romania Lithuania Slovenia Czech Republic Estonia Italy Switzerland GeorgiaIreland
Non-seeded Teams:
The top eight teams from the first qualifying round will meet the following eight teams in the next phase of the tournament, the creatively named “Qualifying Round 2”. The draw for this phase will take place on August 22nd.
The top eight teams from QR2 will be placed in four groups with the following eight teams, which have been seeded based on their performances at TWC 2015. The groups will play in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the single-elimination BO3 playoffs.
The fact that three slots are available for European teams suggests that there will be a third place game, which will likely be higher stakes than the final itself.
