Brief Overview:
Tempo Storm took North America by storm (no pun intended) when they qualified to compete in the Major Qualifier through the Americas Last Chance Qualifier. This was back when they were Games Academy, playing under Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's organisation. Since the MLG Qualifier, the Brazilians moved to Tempo Storm, a much bigger North American organisation and it seems to be a large step forward for the players.

Most recently, the team won the North American Qualifier for IEM Katowice 2016. They beat the best that North America has to offer, including Cloud 9, Counter Logic Gaming, and Team Liquid. Henrique "hen1" Teles seemed very strong, being one of the most hyped players on the team. Despite beating Cloud 9 with a score of 2:0 in the finals, one could argue that the first map wasn't fair, due to it being DDOSed midway through the map, ending all possible momentum from either team that could have possibly altered the outcome. In the end, though, Tempo Storm definitely looked stronger overall, and could even make an upset at Katowice. Watch out for Brazil in 2016, because they are ready to take over.

This is also a new milestone for four out of the five players, since Ricardo "boltz" Prass already qualified for ESL's Katowice tournament last year with Kabum.TD, which is now Luminosity Gaming. Later in 2015, FalleN put Prass into Games Academy, while replacing him and Lucas "steel" Lopez (not to be confused with the banned Josh "steel" Nissan) with former Games Academy players Lincoln "fnx" Lau and Tacio "TACO" Filho. Prass has been an important factor in this Tempo Storm lineup, and may help them reach the same status that Luminosity have obtained.

Fun Facts:

  • One of their players, Ricardo "boltz" Prass, qualified for last year's ESL Katowice tournament exactly 365 days before doing it again with Tempo Storm.
  • Tempo Storm are the second Brazilian team to ever compete in a major CS:GO tournament.
  • On both de_Train and de_Cobblestone, Tempo Storm won over 90% of their 5v4s under their new organisation.
  • On both de_Train and de_Inferno, Tempo Storm won almost half of their 4v5s under their new organisation.
  • 75% of Tempo Storm's maps were played on de_Mirage, de_Cache, or de_Inferno.
  • Henrique "hen1" Teles got an AWP kill every other round, and only died every other round, in the IEM Katowice 2016 North American Qualifier.
