Superweek of APEX Season 2 has wrapped up and the competitors that will advance have been decided.

During the past week, eight teams fought hard for the chance to compete in the upcoming APEX Season 2. The worst performing pro teams, and best performing Challenger teams, played in this event. After a group stage, with 2 seperate groups, the top 2 of each group managed to secure their spot in the sequel to one of the most popular events to date.

After days of play, the following four teams proved the strongest and worthiest: coming from Group A, Team RunAway and The Meta will advance; from Group B Afreeca Freecs Red and MVP Infinity are the teams we will see much of in the future as well.

Many viewers speculated on which teams would manage to advance to APEX. RunAway, while lacking a big name organization, convincingly secured the spot after a 6-0 map run. Simiarly, new team The Meta also managed a clean 2-0 match record, in the arguably easier group.

The biggest upset of the event was LuxuryWatch Red not making it futher than 3rd place in their group. LuxuryWatch has been confusing a lot of fans recently, swapping players and combining their two rosters (LW Red & LW Blue) as recent as IEM Gyeonggi Overwatch Invitational, which they won. LW Red almost pulled off a reverse-sweep to Afreeca Freecs Red in the decider match, but collapsed defending the payload in Hollywood.

More details on OGN APEX Season 2 are to be determined but stay tuned here for more updates!
