A tournament slightly overlooked and overshadowed due to timezones and MLG Vegas, IEM Gyeonggi still promises a great Grand Finals later today.
While MLG Vegas is currently the battleground for a reevaluation of the NA scene, IEM Gyeonggi by ESL set up a showcase of Korean and European talent, for a grand prizepool of $100,000 dollars. The last two days, fans could tune in to watch teams such as Rogue or Lunatic Hai battled it out in the Goyang Sports Complex arena. Unfortunately, Misfits and Rogue (with new rosters) were not able to put much more than a dent into the Korean defense, and so the Grand Finals played later today will be KR vs KR.

As shown, this tournament originally had a total of eight teams, two from EU and the rest from the event's home country. Due to earlier Asian accomplishments, both Rogue and Afreeca Freecs Blue were given a bye in the first round, while impressive teams like Misfits (recent DH Winter winners) and Lunatic Hai had to play an additional match.
Neither profiting team lived up to this gift however, as LW Red managed to take Rogue in a convincing 3-1 and Lunatic Hai defeated AF blue in similar fashion. As such, the Grand Finals will feature two teams that went 6-1 up until this point.
The difference between finishing first and second is a significant $30,000, and with this event acting almost as a year-closer we expect the teams to be fully prepared and ready to win.
