Didn't have a chance to catch all the action this weekend? We have a review of all the tournaments that you might have missed.

The Overwatch scene is at a very healthy point right now. With the absence of Blizzard's official plans for its eSport, organizations and teams are free to participate in events as much as they want. A lot of big events happened this weekend, and we have summarized the ones that finished for you below.

Alienware Monthly Melee June

Event Hub - Partial VODs

Results:

1. EnVyUs - $2,000
2. Cloud9 - $1,000
3. Luminosity
4. Liquid

Cloud 9 were the favorites going into this tournament, sitting at the top of the GosuGamers rankings and having showed their immense skill in many post-release tournaments, as well as a 1st place win in the original Alienware Monthly Melee. With that going for them, it was expected that they would make a clean sweep for another title. In the second round though, disaster struck. EnvyUs knocked them down to the lowers bracket where they had to face Luminosity Gaming in what was an incredibly exciting series that Cloud 9 ended up coming on top of. With Luminosity beating they went on to the grand finals to face EnvyUs once more. EnvyUs absolutely dominated them, winning the series without dropping a single map and putting the team as #1 on the GosuGamers rankings. While the finals were a bit of a stomp, the rest of the tournament was not. We saw Liquid going toe to toe with both EnvyUs and Luminosity, and NG Red show that they’re only getting better. With the dust settling from the patch it will be interesting to see which teams rise in the coming weeks, and which teams struggle as they try to adjust to the new meta.

Amazon Gaming Series

Event Hub - VODs

Results:

1. Misfits -  €5,000
2. Creation eSports -  €3,000
3-4. REUNITED/Rogue - €1,000

Misfits must have been happy with their Graviton Surge pick, because the team won their first event under the new name. Qualify as Graviton Surge, and win as Misfits, no better timing can be achieved. Unfortunately only casted in French, this event did show just how shaky REUNITED currently is. Misfits showed equal expertise in offense and defense, and took out Creation eSports 3-0 on Dorado, Numbani and Nepal to win the 5k first prize! (Vods linked above include French commentary.)

ONOG Operation Breakout

Event Hub - Partial VODs

Results:

1. EnVyUs - $7,500
2. Cloud9 - $4,000
3. Rogue - $2,000
4. Luminosity - $750

EnVyUs was the favorite going in and they didn’t disappoint. They have looked strong for a while, but in the past two weeks they have appeared unbeatable. EnVyUs faced Cloud9 in the finals of the winners bracket and came away with a win. The two teams faced off again in the grand finals and the result was the same - EnVyUs came out on top. While the result isn’t that surprising, the dominating way that EnVyUs won, without dropping a single map, is a bit shocking. The surprise of the tournament has to be the strong showing of Rogue. They took down REUNITED in their first playoff match and then were able to take down Luminosity in surprisingly effortless fashion. Rogue now sits atop the European teams, but it will be interesting to see how they handle pressure from MisfitsGG and REUNITED in the coming weeks.

OG Invitational

Event Hub - Partial VODs

Results:

1. EnVyUs - $15,000
2. Luminosity - $7,000
3. NG Red - $3,000
4. Cloud9

EnVyUs refused to drop a game in the OG Invitational this weekend, too. The team swept the group stage by demolishing the newly-formed FaZe as well as Gale Force and proceeded to 7-0 the playoffs bracket against rival team Cloud9 in the semis and Luminosity Gaming in the finals.

If EnVy's dominance was expected and made for a one-sided grand final, NG Red and Cloud9 were neck and neck in the bronze match. NG Red had to forfeit their semi-final match against Luminosity due to missing a player but prevailed in a five-game series against the former GosuRankings leader, as Wolf, Bird and Mangachu showcased top tier DPS skill.
