Predictions

In order to help you get a better understanding of the teams participating and help you figure out who to root for we created predictions for this time around.

Favorites:

IDDQD

Prediction: 1st

Let's be straight: There is only one favorite this week, and it has to be IDDQD. With a win streak of 44 games and basically winning every tournament they entered since the start of beta phase two there is no way to word it differently.

Underdogs:

FlatEarth

Prediction: 2nd

Leading the "best of the rest" pack is Flathearth. They managed to take maps of IDDQD in previous matches and their decision to remove Kryw and bring in a experienced Tank to allow Draceus to play in his best role, support, might help to edge them closer. The only question is whether they can adapt well to the new meta.

Luminosity.gg

Prediction: 3rd

With the absence of EnvyUS and Cloud9, North America's hopes to take the trophy rest on the shoulders of the former mixup team. The new meta should fit them very well, as Esper can get back to his famed Mercy and they have very capable Pharah players in Harbleu and Seagull.

REUNITED.gg

Prediction 4th

REUNITED.gg is a team that is very hard to judge at the moment. While I would say that the addition of Kruise overall improved their lineup massively, there might be one issue that'll come back to bite them: The lack of a good Pharah player. This plagued the former Battlefield team already in the first Beta phase and even with the lineup changes, I just don't see anyone on their roster being able to beat the Pharah players from other top teams. It will certainly be interesting to see whether they can prove me wrong or how they can work around the glaring issue.

Teams to look out for:

IMPULSE 11

Prediction: 5th-8th

The mix up of former SK and Ventus players might surprise a lot of people. They basically got everything: A great leader in Likely, one of the most flexible flex players in Nevix, an absurd Pharah and Junkrat player in Zebbosai and one of the rising stars on the DPS Spot in iddqd. With a good draw they might even manage to make an appearance in the finals.

Quake Fortress

Prediction: 5th-8th

If you are the type of guy that bet on Leicester to win the Premier League at the start of the footballing season, you should definitely put all your GosuBet points on this team. On a good day I could even see them taking it all. A dominant team, particularly on King of the Hill maps, and a roster stacked with a lot of talent whose strongest heroes line up perfectly with the current meta. That being said, they are a bit of a hot and cold team, so it is almost as likely that they make a first round exit. Either way, they will surely provide you with entertaining matches at least.
