2XKO reveals Lux and Samira as next playable champions, launching in Fall 2026
Lux finally takes the spotlight, while Samira leaves fans waiting for more.
Riot Games has pulled back the curtain on the next additions to 2XKO, the League of Legends fighting game, revealing Lux and Samira during EVO Vegas while confirming that the fighting game's roster is set to grow even faster than previously expected.
The showcase offered fans their first glimpse of Lux in action following a visual rework, while Samira made a brief appearance through her introduction. Although neither champion has received a full gameplay breakdown just yet, Riot confirmed that Lux's complete trailer will arrive this autumn, with Samira expected to follow later in the year.

Which champions are coming to 2XKO in 2026?
Lux and Samira are the latest League of Legends champions confirmed for 2XKO. To date, Caitlyn joined the roster in January, followed by Akali in early April. The Senna and Thresh duo then arrived on June 9, with Lux officially next in line, and Samira now expected to round out the year's reveals.
That means Riot is on track to add six champions throughout 2026 instead of the five originally announced, significantly expanding the game's playable roster before the year is over.
2XKO Lux gameplay reveal at EVO Vegas 2026
While the full gameplay trailer is still a few months away, Riot gave EVO viewers a brief look at Lux in action. The preview showed the Lady of Luminosity taking on Darius with her staff following her visual rework, even slipping in the classic fighting game move "Rich, white girl sweep".
Interestingly, the attacks shown don't appear to lean heavily on the spell-casting that League of Legends players typically associate with Lux, instead focusing on close-range staff combat. With only a few seconds of footage revealed, however, Riot is still keeping much of her final moveset under wraps. Riot has said Lux's complete gameplay trailer will be released this fall.
Luxanna “Lux” Crownguard is one of LoL's most popular champions, alongside Ahri and Miss Fortune. She consistently maintains a pick rate of around 6 to 10% and has received 22 skins in the game, ranking second among all champions for the most skins, behind Miss Fortune.
When will Samira join 2XKO?
Samira's reveal was considerably shorter, with Riot only showing her character introduction during the EVO presentation. With no gameplay details released yet, her fighting style remains a mystery for now. Riot has only confirmed that she is scheduled to arrive later this year, suggesting that more information will be shared after Lux's full reveal.
The latest announcements continue to build out 2XKO's roster following the game's release this year. With Lux and Samira still waiting in the wings, Riot looks set to finish 2026 with six new champions joining the roster, up from the five it had originally planned.
