Fnatic.EU took a convincing 2-0 win against Team Dignitas last night to advance into the Grand Final of The Defense 3. The games yesterday include a decently close game one and a 13 minutes game two to which Dignitas gave away 14 kills within eight minutes.

Game 1

Game one started with Fnatic.EU playing the offensive trilane with Luna, Shadow Demon, and Jakiro against Dignitas much inferior trilane of Gyrocopter, Nyx Assassin, and Leshrac. Due to the tremendous pressure put on by Fnatic.EU, Leshrac left the lane and started stacking the jungle camps. Leshrac had no experience gain by 6 minutes.

Just three minutes into the game, Fnatic.EU had quickly shown their dominance in the laning phase with three of their players having the top creep kills while Gyrocopter only had eight.

However, The First Blood came for Dignitas as Dark Seer was caught off-position and was killed by the Magnus with the help of a double damage rune and the Reverse Polarity.

Things started looking even more bleak for Dignitas as they lost an engagement at the bottom lane and the Enigma at the top shortly after to the Lone Druid. The experience advantage was up to 3,000 for Fnatic.EU by 10 minutes.

The wombo combo

Fnatic.EU grouped up as four to push down some towers but Fnatic.EU clearly could not have taken a teamfight against Dignitas with all their AOE skills up. However, Fnatic's persistence in pushing as five allowed Dignitas to return from their early game deficit as they lost a few more heroes trying to push into the tier-one tower.

A small chance opened up for Dignitas at 22 minutes after picking off the Shadow Demon. Fnatic.EU rushed towards mid for the tier-one tower and although Dignitas' back-up came in time, Luna was able to last hit the tower and escape successfully with a beautifully placed Ice Path. However, Fnatic.EU once again lost the next big teamfight near the Rosh pit to some massive AOEs. Fnatic.EU snuck a Roshan kill after they respawned.

Nothing much happened between 25 minutes and 33 minutes but knowing that they will lose the late game, Dignitas smoked up and caught Shadow Demon in the Dire jungle before pushing down Fnatic.EU's top tier-two tower.

As Dignitas attempted to go up Fnatic's high ground, their AOE combo did not chain off properly and they lost the fight and the Roshan.

In the next fight, despite pulling off a decent Reverse Polarity on two heroes, Dignitas was not able to capitalize the chance they had as Blackhole was still cooling down. The poor decision making by Magnus cost Dignitas the turnaround fight as Fnatic strolled into Dignitas' base and destroyed the rax.

Dignitas performed some futile four-men push with Leshrac defending the base but it was to no avail. Dignitas did eventually sneak the Rosh but Fnatic was way too huge for Dignitas to combo burst them down. Fnatic took game one.

Game 2

Fnatic made a surprise Lycanthrope pick and even more surprisingly, was placed solo bot with Windrunner pulling the jungle camp at the safe-lane. Wisp on the other hand, managed to pull the creeps from the middle lane with some really smart exploit of the Gnoll's poison. The pull surprised Dignitas as the Storm and Nyx did the overextension and gave away the First Blood to Chaos Knight.

Dignitas's continuous sloppy play in the laning phase gave Chaos Knight and Wisp a combined total of seven kills in just mere five minutes. Dignitas attempted a counter-gank on the Wisp and Chaos Knight but ended up dying more. The score was up to 14-2 in 8 minutes with the duo having a hand in all the kills.

The lead in experience and gold was way too much for Dignitas to handle as they called the gg just 13 minutes into the game.
