Esports are becoming more and more mainstream and MLG Dallas is no exception of this phenomenon.

Over the three titles of League of Legends, Starcraft 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, MLG hit a staggering 2.6 million viewers. More impressively was the recorded stats of the time of an average watcher. eSports enthusiasts would be proud to know that rather than just sticking around for part of a game or even a full game, the average user tuned into 150 minutes.

Not only online, enthusiasts to watch these games in droves as well.

Discounting unique viewers, there were also over 200,000 consistent viewers at any given time split relatively evenly between Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. What this goes to show is that even though wasn't a particularly major event (especially for League of Legends), it still brought massive viewership and interest which goes to show that eSports will grow just fine as it is, even without the use of television.

If this is evidence of anything most, however, it's that the viewers demand more international competition and may deem some of the region-specific content stagnant.
