A long and hard-fought was the first and only Ro6 match for the day. EG came into the match-up having beaten the Wolves three out of four times in the group stage but the Danes were enjoying a mighty rise in performance, determined to make this as difficult for EG as possible.

While targeting Thresh, TF and Zed cut out some of EG's most potent champions, several of their players were nevertheless allowed to play their most comfortable picks. Froggen, Snoopeh and Yellowpete got hold of Anivia, Cho'Gath and Varus while Wickd picked Zac for his LCS debut and the game began shortly.

It was a passive and very even first set as both teams were in perfect kill balance for the most time. However, through superior farming and team fighting skills, EG slowly edged out ahead, severing Wolves' heads after an explosive engagement and an ace under the Danes' mid tower.

As teams changed sides, it was CPW's turn to secure the champions that desired and as a result Varus went into his second most active player - TheTess. To build a strong defensive wall in front of him and Kassadin, CPW picked Nautilus and Godbro's signature Shen.

It was that very Shen that allowed Copenhagen Wolves to tie the score. Always on point with his ultimates and taunts (catching four players during the decisive team fight), Godbro applied terror and invaluable map presence all over the place, often accompanied by the tanky, yet deadly Kassadin of Bjergsen.

This is where problems came knocking on LCS's door and suffering from server instability and disconnects, game three had to be delayed and remade after almost an hour of pause.

Upon resume, EG stormed the Wolves hard and strong, making for a game quite unlike the previous two. Capitalizing on Wolves' mistakes and playing absolutely perfectly, EG scored one kill after another and by the end of the game they would bank a 10-1 scoreboard with only Krepo dying once in the final battle. With a 2-1 win in the series, EG moved forward to the semi finals, sending Copenhagen Wolves to fight for their survival in the promotion bracket.

The WCS EU playoffs resume tomorrow, starting at 13:00 CET with Gambit vs SK and continuing with EG vs Fnatic at 16:00 CET.
