VG guarantees themselves third place finish in NPL 2
Vici Gaming has eliminated NeoES.Orange from Netolic Pro League 2 and successfully guaranteed themselves a third place finish in the tournament. Vici will be facing Netolic.SG in their upcoming match to determine who is worthy to go up against MUFC in the grand final.
Netolic Pro League East has reached a crucial point as three teams remain in the tournament. MUFC, the winner of the Winners bracket, has secured their place in the final, while Vici Gaming and Netolic.SG (AFD) will battle for the second spot.
The first round of the Winners bracket had some unexpected results, as NeoES.Orange and Vici Gaming both lost their matches against MUFC and NTL.SG respectively. They were dropped into the loser bracket in which they faced Invasion and First Departure in a best-of-one format. They quickly overpowered their opponents and moved into the next round.
MUFC on the other hand, continued their domination in the winner bracket final, taking down Netolic.SG to guarantee themselves a spot in the grand final.
The biggest upset happened earlier today when Vici Gaming with their new addition, Jian 'ZSMJ' Gong annihilated SEA favourites, NeoES.Orange in the loser bracket semi-finals. Over 57,000 branches were lost in that game.
Guaranteed at least a third place finish, Netolic.SG will attempt to stop VG winning series in the loser bracket final on Sunday. The game is set to go live at 13:00 CEST and the winner will determine who is worthy to be the second finalist of Netolic Pro League. The loser bracket final will be played in best-of-one.
