Closing the super week and the regular season with a bang, Fnatic managed to snatch first place out

In a day with innovative pics and great plays, Fnatic took the first place out of Gambit.
Dragonborns vs Fnatic
The first game of the day faced Fnatic against Dragonborns. The odds were in favor of Fnatic and the team didn't disappoint. The game started with fast exchange of kills and Fnatic always managed to get the better hand of it. At the sixteenth minute mark Cyanide on Nasus managed to do the earliest baron in LCS with a little help from Soaz.
On the next baron respawn a huge fight emerged where xPeke on Kha'zix managed to get a quadra kill but was denied the penta from Shushei. Following the fight, Fnatic took baron and won the game after a final push.
Gambit Gaming vs aAa
Gambit Gaming faced Against All Authority in the second game of the day. The game had an unexpected start and aAa took the lead with five kills and two dragons. It took Gambit only five minutes to turn the game around. From the 15th to 20th minute they managed to pick up nine kills and a dragon turning the gold deficit into a 4k gold lead.
From there on there was no hope for aAa and the team got destroyed. Gambit snowballed hard and took the game.
SK vs Giants
The third game of the day was between SK and the Giants. Giants entered the game as the underdogs but managed to get four early kills. However the kills didn't result in a gold lead because of the better CS for team SK.
The game was even and the gold difference insignificant until about the 25th minute mark. At that point SK took the game into their hands and after series of good engagements managed to get fifteen kills and a 10k gold lead.
At the 36th minute mark Giants managed to steal a baron from SK but it didn't matter. Slowly and steadily SK pushed their advantage and managed to secure the game.
EG vs CW
The fourth game of the day faced Evil Geniuses and the uprising team of Copenhagen Wolves. The Wolves entered the game hot following the three wins from yesterday and faced EG in a game with no clear favorite.
Despite active target banning, Copenhagen Wolves still managed to get a lot of their comfortable champions and Shen, Xin Zhao and Syndra were secured. Svenskeren’s ganks played a huge role in Wolves’ strong early game but there was Wickd on top lane for EG to balance things out.
The AoE team fight superiority of EG first showed its teeth at the 18th minute mark just in front of the baron pit. A flawless Leona ult followed by desecrating equalizer gave EG three kills for one, a dragon and a 2.2K gold advantage. Over the next minutes that advantage doubled but Wolves seemingly gave zero damns. A team fight at the 30th minute which started by a calculated Zonia’s bate by Bjergsen and ended with a four for one clean up for the Wolves tied the kill score.
However good Wolves’ coordination was, it didn’t stand a chance against a godlike Froggen in 5v5’s that followed. Several double kills in a row made for one very scary Twisted Fate and winning all subsequent team fights and taking down all three inhibitors. In that way EG overpowered the Wolves to secure their 4th place in the rankings.
Giants vs Fnatic
In their second game for the day Giants faced Fnatic. Giants were scared of potential Nunu pick from Soaz in the top lane and spend one of the bans on him. The game was off to a slow start but once the players hit level six it was time for the show to begin. Exchange of kills on all lanes ended up to six on six with a small gold advantage for Fnatic because of a dragon.
The exchange of kills continued and Fnatic slowly managed to pull a 3k gold lead by the 25th minute mark. Ten minutes later the lead of Fnatic was extended to 10k and the game looked in their hands. From that point on the game was slowly and methodically closed. Giants were losing inhibitor after inhibitor and couldn't win any of the emerged engagements. In that way Fnatic secured victory and the fight with Gambit for 1st place continues.
CW vs Gambit Gaming
Copenhagen Wolves faced Gambit Gaming in the sixth game of the day. As expected Tresh was banned against Edward. On the other hand Gambit banned Svenskeren's Jarvan IV and Kha'zix and Twisted Fate from Bjergsen.
The game started slowly and by the 10th minute mark the kills were even two on two but because of first blood, a tower and dragon Gambit had a 2.5k gold advantage. The game continued with the same pace and by the 25th minute Gambit managed to extend their lead to 5k. The next five minutes however were in favor of the Wolves. After series of great engagements mainly by Bjergsen, they not only evened the gold advantage but were able to swing the game in their favor.
From then on Copenhagen Wolves extended their lead and managed to keep Gambit at bay. At the 45th minute mark, the Wolves engaged into a five versus three fight and managed to kill Nasus and Renekton. Meanwhile the other two members of Gambit managed to do baron, however the buff wasn't enough and the Wolves managed to take middle inhibitor and a nexus tower.
The picture didn't change until the end. Wolves needed just two more engagements to finish the game and end up the weekend with 4-1 score. By showing such great plays the team will be entering the playoffs with confidence.
aAa vs Dragonborns
Against all Authority vs. Dragonborns kicked off with yet another round of unexpected and exciting picks. Hosan was able to play his infamous Draven once again while Shushei brought out some further innovation with Maokai. Though Dragonborns were able to secure an early first blood, Against All Authority swept up two kills of their own on Dioud off of Dragonborn's bottom lane.
Afterwords, the pressure was put heavily onto the Dragonborns bottom lane, but little could be accomplished outside of going even at best in the trades. Malunoo, on the other hand, offered more effective pressure, grabbing 3 kills of his own and securing another by the 10 minute mark. aAa weren't ready to let the game go early, though, and ShlaYa picks up the slack by making several plays across the map.
Dragonborns slowly but steadily kept extending their lead and at about 35th minute mark they had 6k gold lead and a dragon buff. Using the buff Dragonborns pushed mid and after a four for zero exchange at the inhibitor tower, they managed to secure the win.
EG vs SK
The last match of the season faced EG and SK in a battle for glory. While the bans of EG were targeted at different lanes, all three bans of SK targeted Froggen at his favorite Anivia, Twisted Fate and Lux.
The game was off to a slow start and by the 10th minute mark the kills were one for one and the gold lead was just 500 in favor of EG. The game didn't exceed in speed because of both teams playing very carefully and ten minutes later the kills were only three for two and the lead of EG was extended to 3k. At the 24th minute mark however everything changed. EG managed to grab a dragon and seconds later fight exploded which they won with four kills and zero deaths. Following the fight EG managed to kill the baron and using the buff they took SK's bottom inhibitor which resulted in a 9k gold lead.
From then on it was EG all the way. With the next attack they managed to get the middle inhibitor and followed it with another baron. Using the buff EG took the top inhibitor and after a short fight destroyed the nexus of SK.
With that game over the regular season finished and it's time for the playoffs and relegation matches. As expected the favorites managed to take the first four places. Fnatic took the first place and Gambit had to be satisfied with the second. After a terrible start of the season Copenhagen Wolves managed to reach the fifth place and are showing great improvement. The bottom of the table was left for the Dragonborns with a score of six wins and twenty two loses.
In the playoffs next week SK are going to face aAa and the winner is going to play against Gambit. On the other part of the table are EG who are facing the Copenhagen Wolves and the winner is going to play against Fnatic.
