Vulcun vs Marn
In what could be labeled a match of team comp hard counter, Vulcun scored their first loss for LCS W7D2 against Marn. Vulcun secured first blood by sniping Rumble on top but that was the only moment in time they were ever ahead. As the game went on, the rich on slows and snares composition of Marn simply stood still in readiness and peeled every attempt of Singed and Volibear to run and flip Marn’s carries. As a result, at minute 28, Marn shattered down Vulcun’s Nexus, having a 4/0/9 Lux and 8/0/4 Varus – a great lecture on how to protect your damage dealers.
Complexity vs GGU
From the fist second of the match till its end at the 45th minute, GGU and Complexity were dead even. A kills were traded for kills, towers for towers and global objectives for farm and neither team seemed to come in the lead.
The first real advantage went to GGU as after spotting Complexity to be around their blue buff, they rushed in and took the middle inhibitor, quickly falling back thereafter with minimal casualties. Complexity took a Baron as result and tried to push in but the long-ranged power of Jayce and Elise kept them away.
Despite outfarming and outleveling GGU, Complexity forgot one thing: a 45-minute game meant 45 minutes of play time for Tristana. A slight misposition around the Baron pit and Complexity melted under the monstrous attack speed of GGU’s AD. With a perfect ace, GGU rushed forward and took the back-and-forth game at last.
Dignitas vs Marn
A pinch of unorthodoxy made its way into Marn’s fourth game against Dignitas as ClakeyD locked in Trundle. Hoping that the CDR’ed Pillar of Filth will empower their poke composition with Caitlyn and Jayce in it, Marn prepared to play their last game for this week.
The game picked up pace at the 7th minute. A good reaction to a mid-lane gank gave Marn the first blood but Dignitas nevertheless came ahead in the exchange and took both Caitlyn and Janna down. Dignitas were also the ones to first lose a tower but once again, they found a way back and soon they were in the lead three towers to one.
At the 20th minute, Dignitas were 3K gold ahead and a fight at top lane increased their lead even further. Catching Marn one by one, Scarra’s crew scored a perfect ace, followed by a baron and a bottom inhibitor. The gold lead had tripled and the snowball from here was inevitable. Some minutes later, Dignitas took their second Barn, marched in for their 4-0 against Marn.
