With SGNDT drawing close, the organizers had disclosed how the event will be played.
It will begin with a draw, where we will see the 32 teams divided into 8 groups of 4. Each group will then follow the classical group stage format, where each team will face all the other teams on his group once.
After all the matches from each groups are played, the 2 teams with the best standing on the group will advance to the playoffs stage. This will determine the Top 16 teams of the tournament.
From thereon, the tournament will follow a double-elimination format. A double-elimination format would mean that there would be a loser's bracket, and that a team can only afford to lose at most once throughout the whole playoffs if they want to be crowned as the winner.
Last year's SGNDT also followed this format.
