The StarLadder StarSeries is coming to its decisive final matchdays again. Only four teams will make it to the offline finals this time.
StarLadder StarSeries Season 4 is in its final days after 20 playing days. Four final slots are to be distributed, and not all of them are determined yet. Only Na'Vi is through to Kiev for sure, with a score of 12 wins and only 2 losses. The three-times champion of SLTV surely is the favorite for this fourth and final season in 2012.
Standings StarSeries Season 4 - Final Candidates
#TeamMatchesScore
1 Na'Vi1412-2
2 Virtus.Pro1310-3
3 Empire1410-4
4 fnatic1410-4
5 NoTidehunter138-6
7 mousesports117-4
The number of wins to reach in order to be qualified for sure is 11, except one special case. This special case would be if Empre, fnatic, and mousesports win all their matches and Virtus.Pro wins only one of the two remaining. Only then would there be four teams on positions 2 to 5 with 11 wins each.
Strangely, the qualification will be decided in no direct match at all. None of the six candidates for Kiev will play each other anymore. Special focus lies on Pulse eSports, with three remaining matches against top teams fnatic, NoTidehunter and mousesports and on eL'Pride, with two of such games against Empire and mousesports.

The StarLadder StarSeries offline finals will be held in Kiev's Cybersports Arena once again, this time from 20 December to 23 December. Like season one, this time around only four teams will advance. But these four teams will recieve prize money in the amount of $1,000 to $8,000 depending on the final position.
Furthermore, American teams have no longer been allowed in this fourth season, as they never made their trips even in case of qualification in the first three seasons. With three Eastern European teams among the top, the chance for short-term travel cancellations can at least be considered as low.
Would mousesports make the trip this time?
In case of mousesports, a possible qualification for Kiev would raise the question if mousesports would send the five players to StarSeries finals this time. For season 3, James '2GD' Harding with his GD Studio stepped in after mouz decided not to finance the travel due to unsigned contracts and disbandment rumors.
