Lions eSports invited into SoundBlaster Heroes League
This evening the sixth qualification tournament for the SoundBlaster Heroes League will come to a conclusion, but the sixth invite is already out. This time Lions eSports gets the honor of getting a direct pass into the Championship Bracket.
Lions eSports have been on the surge recently with their first ever appearance in the Upper Bracket Semifinals of the HoN Tour Diamond Division in Cycle 4, followed by finishing third in that cycle. In Cycle 5 they repeated the UB Semifinal appearance and are on the verge of getting into the Top 4 once again - just one victory away from that mark.
It is safe to say that the Swedish squad lead by Handsken has been one of the standout teams in the last couple of weeks with improvement from cycle to cycle. In the Honcast Community Rankings the team is on the rise as well, conquering a Top 4 spot their in the latest edition. For the first time the young team was able to get passed compLexity Gaming not only on the servers of HoN, but also in those rankings. The future looks bright for the team around Superkge to get even closer to the bright past that the Lions organization had at the end of 2011 with the DreamHack Winter Bronze Medal and the NASL Season 2 Championship.
If they continue to play on this high level, the team will definitely be one of the favorites to make a deep run in the Championship Bracket of the SoundBlaster Heroes League and get a big share of the grand total of $40,000 USD that will be up for grabs. They will meet the best of the best in that tournament, but as they showed in the Diamond Division already - the team is more than capable to hang with the cream of the crop on any given day.
