The big change of power draws closer and closer and may to some extent have already come about as KeSPA player take reign over today’s GSL Code A matches. Some of the biggest ESF contenders failed to step up to their former BroodWar counterparts.
If today’s matches are anything to go by, the answer to the question whether KeSPA players will be able to catch up to the competitors that took on the early switch to StarCraft 2 draws closer and closer. Despite the promising line-up of non-KeSPA players, the veterans managed to pummel through the round of 48 without exception. First, ByuL and even Mvp fell victim to the wrath of the late arrivals, each in very clear and decisive fashion.
Flash moves on to the next round after defeating Samsung KHAN’s Sola, as well as EffOrt, who got the better of ByuL. SKT1 trainee LabyRinth put on an impressive display of skill against First, who he managed to beat 2-0, securing a spot for next season’s Code A. But probably the biggest upset of the day was Mvp, latest recipient of the famed NesTea-Award, and his failure to stand his ground against soO. This marks Mvp’s earliest exit out of a GSL tournament thus far.
