Four AL cheaters DQ'd from LCS Season 3 qualifying events
RobertxLee, Zekent, Nubbypoohbear, and Unstoppable have all received the banhammer and are not capable of participating in the qualifiers into the Championship Series.
After the recent news of AL admitting to cheating, it was up for speculation whether Riot would take action or not. The decision has been made, Robert 'RobertxLee' Lee, George 'Zekent' Liu, Johnny 'Unstoppable' Tran, and Nicholas 'Nubbypoohbear' Harlan will be disqualified in competing in the Season 3 qualifiers.
A quote from 'bitingpig' at Riot
“
The actions of Unstoppable, Nubbypoohbear, Zekent, ROBERTxLEE and their confederate are commonly known as “ghosting,” which is when a game spectator illegally provides information about an opponent’s positions and/or movements.
This type of intentional behavior is a quintessential form of unfair play and the players involved do not dispute the relevant facts. They are, however, publicly remorseful about their actions and do not defend their conduct.
Ghosting also violates the Summoner’s Code, which guides players to exercise good sportsmanship and uphold high standards of behavior."
Though the eligibility of playing in Season 3 for these players isn't completely evaporated, it is not an easily approachable path. Should these players find a team that is already competing the Season 3 Championship Series, they may join them and still maintain eligibility to make a career out of it.
However true this may be, it's not a very wise option for them and it would appear they are seeking out new life alternatives.
Cruzerthebruzer, who wasn't guilty of assisting AL with cheating, was affiliated with them and also received punishment despite not being part of the match. He, too, will discontinue his approach at professional League of Legends.
