Gigabyte Mineski Pro Gaming League (GMPGL) will resume this upcoming weekend, on its usual last Sunday of the month. The event, aptly named GMPGL 4-9, will be the 9th leg of its 4th Gaming Season. This is the last chance for the teams to "score", and we can definitely expect some great DotA action.

The event will sport its familiar 3 Classes System : Class S, Class A and Class G. Class S is for teams that are considered the crème de la crème of the Philippine Gaming Society, which rewards teams with specific points per win and demotes them for poor performance (specifically the bottom 2 of the lot). Class G, on the other hand, is the bracket for the team of the local lady gamers, while Class A is the place to be for aspiring teams and demoted teams alike.

To cater the continuous rise of the new teams, the Class A Elimination Round will be held this next Saturday (29th of September) on 9 different venues. Not only will it provide more accessible locations for participating teams, but it will also provide the fans better quality matches come Sunday (30th of September). The latter day will be expensed on the Playoffs of the Class A bracket, as well as the whole Game format of the less-populated Class S and Class G Divisions.

Pacific eMaxx is gunning for the repeat, but Dreamz is looking to further widen their lead. However, what we would like to look out for is Mineski's seemingly spirited attempt at a comeback for the 6th position. They, of course, qualified back into Class S through their wonderful performance on the Class A bracket last month. Will they be able to make it?

GMPGL Rankings as of 4-8
1. Drmz Ledion SteelSeries 157 pts
2. Pacific eMaxx 130 pts

Considered to be the most renowned Philippine Gaming Event, the GMPGL follows a specific point system where the top 6 will process to join the Grand Finals this coming October. The top 6 will join qualifiers from Visayas, Mindanao, PGF and several other wild-cards to contend for the top prize - being sent to the prestigious SMM '12.
