Due to recent changes in the clan scene uebelst-gamynG and Shiba-Gaming don't field enough players to be able to compete and have therefore been replaced by Swedish reinforcements, namely FUBAR and 4FC.

Each group will be joined two additional teams from the open qualifier, turning The Defense III into the biggest online-held Dota 2 tournament as of yet.
